For a first time, or maybe even a third time, sex toy buyer, shopping IRL can be stressful and straight up inaccessible. Sex toy stores tend to fall into two groups these days: the edgy, late-night, filled with men porn store, or high-end boutiques full of $150 and up vibrators. There are definitely shops that meet ya in the middle, but those are the two that are mostly depicted in media representation of sex stores, and also locally. They’re both intimating for different reasons on the end of the class spectrum; the former for its aggression and “dirty” seeming nature, the latter for it’s gentrified and financially inaccessible demeanour. And that’s not even getting into needing to look a shopkeeper in the eye while purchasing an extremely stigmatized object.
Online shopping is a great alternative to most of that stress, but a lot of consumers still enjoy the idea of seeing the toy, holding the box, and avoiding the whole “will my family member/roommate accidentally open my package” debacle. Personally, that’s how I would prefer to shop for some of my items, I’m absolutely horrible at eyeballing dildo dimensions, and I love to walk home with an item as soon as I purchase it (I’m impatient as hell). Shopping in real time also brings benefits of paying in cash, which can be useful for people who would like to avoid a mysterious charge on their bank statement. I’m a believer that teenagers should have the option to use sex toys to explore their sexualities as they so desire, so having a place for them to shop for those sex toys in a comfortable way is always something I’m gung-ho for!
Which brings us to plusOne, the brand behind today’s review! They sell their collection of silicone-swaddled rechargeable vibrators both online and… in Walmart! Walmart has opened their shelves to stocking sexual education products, including sex toys. You may have seen a cock ring or two from Durex there in the past, but I’m talking about a small range of toys specifically made to be sold at the big box retailer. While Walmart isn’t necessarily the most amazing company, it’s a multi-purpose shopping centre that’s accessible to many, especially it’s majority bottom and lower middle classes consumers. Selling sex toys in non-sex specific spaces is an inch forward for sex-positivity in 2019.
plusOne Toys
So let’s talk about the toys! plusOne was created by Clio, a wellness brand, with the purpose of supplying high-quality, low-cost toys for Walmart. The idea behind the design and brand was to make sex toys friendly for a wide range of people, so something clean, sleek and not phallus. plusOne definitely succeeded in checking all those boxes; the toys range from $10 – $30 USD and have surprisingly genderless packaging, aesthetic and branding. The boxes, that allow you to open a window to peek inside would be appealing to a wide range of people, and not look too obvious when placed in a cart.
Each of the four toys from the line come wrapped in silky soft silicone, have 10 different vibration settings, are USB rechargeable, and happen to be fully waterproof as well! For the price range, we’re talking, the plusOne toys have incredible value compared to other toys on the market.
plusOne Vibrating Bullet
A classic baby bullet vibrator with rounded edges, this plusOne toy is perfect for pinpoint stimulation, and if you’re looking for a toy that’s really discreet. It’s navy blue and retails for $9.98 USD.
plusOne Personal Massager
The plusOne Personal Massager is a versatile vibrator that can easily work for a clit, a G-spot, nipples, wherever (except inside your asshole)! It fits most vagina’s size preferences so it’s not too big for insertion. It’s handle tapers into a small, flexible stem before blossoming up to a bulbous, round head, where the vibrations are centred. Because it’s stem is flexible and slightly curved up, it’s great for positioning against a G-spot. I do wish the head was a little less round, and more-so shaped like the Fun Factory Stronic G head for maximum G-spot stimulation. The Plus One Personal Massager comes in the most spectacular colour of periwinkle and retails for $29.98.
plusOne Dual Vibrating Massager
Ahh yes, every collection needs a “rabbit” vibrator! The plusOne Dual Vibrating Massager has an insertable part and an external stimulator. Each contains their own separate vibrations, which you can change via the settings button. I’m not a super fan of rabbit-style vibes in the first place, but for $29.98, this thing has the same shape as my Lelo Ina 2, so I consider it a win for those who like these styles of vibes! And it comes in hot pink.
plusOne Vibrating Ring
I love how plusOne didn’t even specifically name this a cock ring! Ring-type vibes, while primarily used for restricting blood circulation on penises, can be used for so many other ways! The Ring makes a good finger vibe with a little nubbly side for stimulation, and the “ring” part can be wrapped around your fingers as a way to secure it! You can go to town using it on all the bits, including nipples, clits, booty holes, frenulums, perineums, balls, and more! The plusOne Vibrating Ring retails for $15.98 and it comes in aqua blue.
While the vibrations within each of the toys aren’t the strongest or rumbliest things on the market, they are still good enough to get me off. For less than $30 a piece, I think the plusOne line is incredibly worth it, especially considering they’re waterproof, rechargeable, and silicone. It’s great to see a new company tackling sex toys in mainstream stores AND making financial accessibility products that are made for everyone. I’m thoroughly impressed.
Thanks to plusOne for sponsoring this review! All opinions and writing are by yours truly (as always)! You can purchase the range from your local Walmart or at Walmart.com.

The plus one vibrating ring is absolutely fantastic:)
I read on the Plus One website that only the wand is for insertion into the vagina, but your article says the personal massager can fit inside most vaginas. My question is – is it only for outside vaginal use or can it go inside too (I would love for it to go inside)?
